A Story of a Father's Love (and a Lot of Manure)
In 2014, a father’s promise to his 16-year-old daughter sparked the creation of the Pasture and Paddock Tender. When she said she wanted a horse more than anything, he made a deal with her: they would build a barn and grow a pasture together after his work hours. They worked tirelessly, and on her 17th birthday, she received her first horse. She was the happiest girl in the world… for 2 weeks.
She discovered how much work it was to clean up after a horse. Traditional methods like harrows, wheelbarrows, and pitchforks were either inefficient or harmful to the grass, turning the pasture acidic and barren.
Seeing his daughter’s frustration, the father decided to invent a solution: a device that could efficiently scoop manure without damaging the pasture and process it into usable compost. After months of tinkering, he built a prototype that worked perfectly. Friends and neighbors, impressed by the innovation, began asking for their own units. In 2015, recognizing the potential of his invention, he patented the Pasture and Paddock Tender and started selling a few units. Brent, the owner’s son, initially helped with advertising to spread the word and was amazed when the product went viral, garnering over 100,000 likes.
A few months later, Brent’s father passed away. But Brent was determined to honor his father’s ingenuity and legacy, so he continued to build and sell the Pasture and Paddock Tender. Today, we are committed to sharing this innovative solution with horse owners everywhere, ensuring cleaner pastures and happier horses, all while preserving the memory of a father’s dedication to his daughter’s happiness.
